About Kickstart

    Kickstart 2 Work

Derry City & Strabane District Council is part funded by the Northern Ireland European Social Fund to enhance and extend employment opportunities, in particular, for those groups at a disadvantage in the labour market through its kickstart To Work Programme.

The aim of Kickstart To Work is to progress  unemployed and economically inactive individuals aged 16 upwards closer to paid employment through capacity building, personal development, mentoring and support and access to employment initiatives to overcome barriers in order for them to achieve and sustain employment.

The kickstart To Work programme will support over 850 participants over a 3 year period offering a range of free , confidential, one-to-one support to assist you into employment and/or training. We will help you to match your skills and interests with current jobs and training opportunities.

Mentoring & Employment Service:

Our Mentoring & Employment Officers provide professional, one-to-one help & support with:

  • job searching, 
  • writing CVs, 
  • completing job applications, 
  • preparing for interviews, 
  • getting into the right training course
  • and much more
