Advice for Businesses

Derry City and Strabane District Council is very much aware of the impact the floods has had on businesses across the Council area and very keen to offer our support in whatever way we can including assistance from our cleansing teams with the clean-up operation. Unfortunately for businesses that have been affected, the Emergency Fund Scheme is not applicable to them and in the absence of a working NI Assembly there is no mechanism in place that will allow the scheme to be extended. The Council has however been lobbying Central Government to get the Scheme extended. In the interim our business support officers are continuing to work on the ground offering support and assistance and providing details of possible rates relief that may be available through Land and Property Services’ Hardship Scheme  and are encouraged to visit the website to download the forms at - https://www.nibusinessinfo.co.uk/sites/default/files/LPS-Hardship-Relief-Factsheet-And-Application-Form-18Sep2015.pdf.

We are also redirecting businesses to the NI Business website at www.nibusinessinfo.co.uk where they can get further advice and assistance.
