Warm Spaces & Hubs

Warm hubs are warm, safe community spaces where residents can expect a friendly and inclusive welcome this winter. They are open to all but are particularly beneficial if you live in a hard to heat home, if you are isolated or if you are worried about your energy bills.  These are listed below.

Moor DEA:

WARMS Hubs in the following locations are currently being developed across the Moor DEA. Managed by Triax Management Team:

The following Centres are planning Warm Banks in their Centres supported by Consensual Grant Aid provided by Derry City and Strabane District Council: Roll out will begin in January 2023.

The following Centres are planning Warm Banks in their Centres supported by The Urban Villages Programme:

Social Café to be set up in 3 locations - 1 day a week for 16 weeks (Nov – Dec 2022 & Jan to March 2023). Hot meals to be provided by an external provider -  Locations will be; Glenview Community Centre, Ballymagroarty Community Centre and Pennyburn YC.

 

Managed by Glenview Development Initiative

 

 

 

Social Café to be set up in 3 locations - 1 day a week for 16 weeks (Nov – Dec 2022 & Jan to March 2023). Hot meals to be provided by an external provider -  Locations will be; Glenview Community Centre, Ballymagroarty Community Centre and Pennyburn YC.

 

Also planning 250 x Winter Wellness packs for elderly & vulnerable resident in the Foyleside DEA.

Strabane Town:

Community Lounge Programme

 

The identified community lounges are; 

  • Strabane District Caring Services
  • Fountain Street Community Development Association
  • Lisnafin Community Centre
  • Strabane Community Project (Grassroots Project)
  • Melmount Forum (Ballycolman Community Centre)
  • Strabane Ethnic Community Association 

 

The Community Lounge programme seeks to provide a warm space for people to connect people in the local community and pro-actively tackle loneliness, isolation and social exclusion and access services. Hot refreshments will be provided. 

 

Managed by Fountain Street Community Development Association (FSCDA) -  Strabane Town
