‘The Factory Girls’ coming to the Alley
30 September 2019
Get ready to step back in time and re-live days gone by as the Castle Hill Theatre Group presents ‘The Factory Girls’ at the Alley Theatre on Saturday, October 12.
This Frank McGuinness play is sure to be a winner as it takes the audience through an iconic time in our history and one not to be forgotten because “factory girls never grow old and they don’t fade away”.
Set on the Donegal border, this classic play tells the story of five workers in a beleaguered shirt factory who make a stand in the face of pay cuts and looming redundancies.
Ellen, Una, Vera, Rosemary and Rebecca unite against a common enemy and stand together in an effort to save their jobs. Drastic times and measures see the women’s friendships tested, secrets exposed and loyalties divided.
Directed by Declan McGrath and featuring a stellar cast of local talent, including the BBC’s Karen Kirby, Little Penny Thoughts creator Annette Kelly, renowned Armagh actress Bridie Heaney, Director of the sell-out Bardic show, Chicago, Claire McCrory, the very talented Bardic and Portadown actress Dion Di Miao, local entertainer and singer (Blood Upon the Rose) Brian Mills and Ceoltas and Craic Theatre stalwart Liam Mc Ilvanna - this is certainly one not to be missed.
Tickets cost £12 and are available from the Alley Theatre on 028 71 384444 or online at www.alley-theatre.com.
