Alley Theatre looks forward to a sizzling summer season

Things are hotting up at the Alley Theatre with the launch of a sizzling summer programme of top class entertainment showcasing the very best local and international talent.
 
From amazing musicals to talent showcases it's all happening at the Alley, with a whole host of events and activities for all ages. It's 15 years since the Theatre first threw open its doors and since then the venue has become a busy cultural hub and the go to place for entertainment in Strabane.
 
Music as always features heavily in this season's programme, with an impressive array of country, rock, Irish traditional and cabaret performances to suit all tastes. Join the Legends of American Country on June 10th for an impressive collection of country classics, followed up by some traditional Irish airs as the world famous Celtic Voice take to the stage on June 18th, featuring the amazing voice of Conor McGinty. Talented Tyrone singer-songwriter Jamesy O'Kane is making his debut at The Alley on July 23rd, while July ends in style with critically acclaimed Alt Rock four-piece High End Dead also make their debut with their eclectic mix of Grunge, Rock and Indie hits.
 
The Alley plays a key role in promoting talent and the summer sees a number of music and drama showcases led by leading local arts groups. Encore Performing Arts Academy presents Dare to Dream on June 24th-25th, featuring songs, drama and dance from some of their best loved shows. Strabane Arts Academy will be making some noise with their highly anticipated Music and Drum Showcase Week for adults with learning disabilities running from July 26 – 29th.
 
July also sees the return of the sensational Summer School of Rock, offering children the chance to try their hand at drums, guitar, keyboard and singing on stage, with plenty of time to make friends and have fun along the way.
 
One of The Alley's residency's Gerard Bradley has a wonderful monthly Summer treat with a variety of special guests on Friday 17th June, Friday 15th July, Thursday 4th August and Friday 9th September.
 
Enjoy a magical medley of musical theatre over the summer months with some of the best loved productions coming to the Alley. In August Much Ado Stage School brings Sandy and Danny and all the crew at Rydell High to the stage for a show stopping performance of Grease, featuring all the favourite hits. September brings the fairytale magic of Shrek the Musical to the Alley, with the amazing vocal talents of Encore PAA set to raise the roof with a captivating performance.
 
Other exciting highlights of the programme include an evening with award winning blues and soul sensation Kaz Hawkins on August 26, and a mesmerising evening of mediumship with Psychic Angela Dunlop.
 
The Alley Theatre Art Gallery will also be hosting a number of exhibitions throughout the summer, including Knockavoe 500 marking the 500th anniversary of the Battle of Knockavoe and the intriguing Elements of Paradise by Jackie McNamee,
