City Of Derry Airport Welcomes Deputy First Minister

City of Derry Airport, CoDA, was delighted to welcome the Deputy First Minister, Mr Martin McGuinness to the airport today. Mr McGuinness met with the Airport Board and had an opportunity to see the recent infrastructure improvements as well as learning of the airport’s strategic positioning for the future.
CoDA provides a vital air access link to the North West of the island and performs a pivotal role in the region’s economy. The airport is ideally placed to serve not only the city but its natural catchment in Counties Londonderry, Donegal, North Antrim, Tyrone and surrounding districts.
Speaking at the airport, Martin McGuinness said: "The retention and expansion of the City of Derry Airport is an important element of our infrastructure development for the North West. This airport provides important connectivity and connections which is greatly valued by local people, tourists and businesses.
"The City of Derry Airport makes the North West more accessible and is a great asset when trying to attract potential investors. Direct air links are of considerable tourism value as they enable people to fly directly into Derry and visit not just the City but the wider North West.
"I thank Roy and everyone at the City of Derry Airport and I assure them of my continued support as they continue to make a massive economic and social contribution to the North West."
