Council Update : 8.45am Thursday, 19 January 2023

19 January 2023

Further snow and icy conditions overnight will have some impact on services by Derry City and Strabane District Council today.

Council crews across all services are working to ensure services are provided with minimal disruption.

Despite the poor weather conditions, Bin Collection Services are operating as normal with some minor localised disruption. Householders are encouraged to put their bins out for collection as normal and our crews will endeavour to collect them when it is safe to do so.

Council cemeteries will remain closed to the public today. They will be open to facilitate burials which will go ahead as normal.

Council recycling centres and parks will be open when it is safe to do so, the public are asked to be patient, to use the facilities with caution and to co-operate fully with staff.

Outdoor pitches are currently closed

Further updates will be provided when they become available.
