Council to offer Good Relations training
29 July 2015
Community groups in the Derry City and Strabane District Council area are being invited to avail of an exciting training opportunity which will take place in the Council’s Strabane Offices on the 12th & 13th August.
The training will be delivered by experienced facilitators from The Junction and will enable participants to develop their skills in working with groups to deliver Good Relations training and facilitation.
A spokesperson for Council’s Good Relations Team explained that at the end of the course participants will have gained an understanding in a number of key areas. “The course is geared towards giving participants a good foundation in areas such as group dynamics, the role of the facilitator and how to prepare for facilitating a GR workshop. We will also be exploring ways of dealing with difficult behaviour and how to facilitate sensitive issues.
“I would really encourage local groups to sign up as they will find the course extremely informative and it will provide some practical tools to promote positive engagement. The course is free and participants will be provided with a certificate on completion.”
