Discover the joy of science as annual NI Science Festival returns to Strabane
10 February 2023
The Alley Theatre will once again have the privilege of hosting the Northern Ireland Science Festival when the event returns from Thursday 16th to Sunday 26th February.
The annual celebration of all things science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM) will return to venues across Northern Ireland for a jam-packed 11 days of discovery from Thursday 16th to Sunday 26th February.
Scientist and presenter Stefan Gates will be at the Alley Theatre for two afternoon shows on Sunday 26th February at 1pm and 4pm with his show, Rude Science.
Answering the questions that everyone is too shy to ask, Rude Science is packed with weird and wonderful facts about our bodies and the disgusting gloops and gunks we ooze every day.
Rude Science follows in the flatulent footsteps of Fartology, taking on those unmentionable body substances with which we're all so familiar, but rarely talk about in polite company.
Stefan tackles eternal questions such as: How much snot can a person produce in one day? Why do men have nipples? What's earwax for? And what is toe cheese?
Expect zits, burps, farts, snot, scabs, pee, vomit, snot, blood, sweat and tears, all brought to life with stunts, rockets, fart machines, sneeze machines and enormous bottoms!
Reclaim your bodily functions with fun and scientific facts that will fascinate kids and adults alike.
Commenting on the return of the festival, its director, Sarah Jones, added: “This year’s NI Science Festival extends right across Northern Ireland to spread the joy of science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics to audiences.
“We aim to ignite interest in the world around us, to spark conversation and debate, and we hope this year’s programme will create new learning opportunities for festival goers old and new.”
Rude Science is suitable for aged 6 and above.
Tickets are £10 available from the Alley Theatre website on www.alley-theatre.com or call 028 71 384444.
