End of summer fun day planned for Strabane Market this Friday

28 August 2018

This Friday August 31, Customized Training Services in Strabane will hold an End of Summer Family Fun Day as part of the Council’s monthly market in Strabane that takes place in Butcher Street car park.

The event promises to be a great way to end the summer holidays and for families to have one last blast of fun before returning to school and the winter routine.

The Fun Day has something for everyone to enjoy and will take place from 11 am to 3pm and is organised in partnership with Derry City and Strabane District Council and We Are Macmillan Cancer Support.

Among the highlights of the event will be an obstacle course, nerf shootout and a bungee run while there will be face painting, a kid’s carousel and lots of exciting games and activities for the children taking place throughout the day.

Teaming up with We Are Macmillan Cancer Support will be Janice Craig from Customized Training who has volunteered to Brave the Shave on the day for the charity.

All activities on the day will be free with participants encouraged to make a donation to Macmillan Cancer Research. There will be a raffle on the day with a wide range of prizes available thanks to donations from local retailers and businesses.

The Strabane Market will operate as normal throughout the day with its usual offering of high quality stalls and traders from across the city and region taking part.

There will also be live music throughout the day with performances from Adam Dolan, Shonagh Forbes, Cara Quinn, Hannah Ward, Vanilla Unicorns, Liam Cannon, Darren Doherty and Niamh Doherty.

Representatives from Customized Training will be available throughout the day to offer career advice and information on the range of services and programmes available.

Trading at the Strabane Market takes place from 11am to 5pm where you can purchase many artisan products such as freshly baked goods, sweet & savoury treats or end the search for that unique handcrafted gift.
