Finn Valley Men’s Project to launch music and art initiatives at the Alley Theatre

19 October 2018

The Finn Valley Men’s Project will host the official launch of the Finn Valley Men’s Choir and the Churches through the Lens art exhibition on 6th November at 6.30pm in the Alley Theatre, Strabane.
The project is a cross border cross community project funded by the International Fund for Ireland and supports men becoming involved in groups in their own areas with the aim of promoting dialogue between different political and religious communities on both sides of the border.
The Churches through the Lens Art Exhibition has seen more than 90 men researching the various religious churches in the Finn Valley area and has produced an exhibition illustrating the diversity of religious cultures in the region.
The project has used art as a means to building positive community relationships in the border region.
The Art exhibition is open to public viewing from Tuesday November 6th to Saturday November 10th in The Alley Theatre, Strabane.
The Finn Valley Men’s Choir is the first all male Cross Border/Cross Community Choir in the Northwest.
Group singing has steadily increased in popularity recently, as it is known to have a positive effect on health and overall well-being.
Over 30 men from the Donegal  and Tyrone border regions, many who will be taking to the stage for the first time, have come together as one to perform as the Finn Valley Men’s Choir.
They will entertain with a wide selection of music and song including, Melodies from the Beatles, Johnny Cash, Frank Sinatra and other well known artists.
A great night’s entertainment is guaranteed for all age groups.
