Gerard Bradley presents and Evening with Special Guests Denise O'Kane and Robert Peoples

This November musician Gerard Bradley is back with a superb evening of music with special guests Denise O'Kane on vocals and Robert Peoples on violin on Thursday 10th November in the Alley Theatre Bar.
Gerard Bradley brings an exciting programme of guest musicians to the Alley Theatre for a number of evenings over the Autumn months. 'Gerard Bradley presents An Evening With'…. Is a monthly selection of guest music evenings featuring diverse artists of wide-ranging talent, vocal and instrumental. Expect an eclectic mix of music styles; Irish Folk, Pop Jazz and Opera from talented and established guest artists from the North West accompanied by Gerard Bradley in trio/Quartet format.
Music has played a big part in Gerard's life. In 2014 he formed the Strabane Chamber Choir; a choir made up of members from Tyrone, Derry and Donegal. The choir has had great success with competitive wins in Derry, Sligo and Navan Choral festivals. They regrouped recently to perform, in Concert at the Alley Theatre Strabane, Dec 2021 after a forced hiatus of almost 2 years due to Covid restrictions. Previous to his SCC tenure, Gerard was Musical Director of Letterkenny Music Society for 10 consecutive years 2005-2014. He has served as occasional MD or rehearsal pianist for multiple musical productions in the Tyrone, Derry, Donegal area and is currently involved in the production of 3 more including a return to Letterkenny this Autumn. In 1985 he formed a Jazz Quartet in which he plays piano [Jazz Gazette]. The group is still functioning on a regular basis. He has also been an occasional conductor for Strabane Concert Brass, representing Ireland on 5 separate occasions in the European Brass Band Championship.
Vocalist Denise O'Kane has trained classically with James McCafferty, is a former Riverdance singer having toured USA, Asia and Europe for 6 years, her gigs included Radio City music Hall New York, Pantages Theatre in Los Angeles. Denise returned to Dublin in 2003 and sang with Anuna. Since returning to Derry Denise has sang locally with St Eugene's Cathedral Choir, Londonderry Musical society and currently with Strabane Chamber Choir.
Derry born Robert Peoples studied viola at Colchester Institute School of Music under the tuition of Mr Glyndwr Parfitt from 1987-1991. As well as his classical training, Robert has played in several bands over the years, with genres ranging from Blues/Folk, Country, and bands with original material in such places as the Albert Hall, Festival Hall, Glastonbury and the Cambridge Folk Festival to name but a few. A versatile player, Robert currently performs and composes with his current band Basork, and teaches both viola and violin.
