Get Ready for A Comedy Christmas Cracker of a Night at the Alley

09 December 2022

The Alley Theatre is excited to announce Strabane Comedian Ro Boyle is bringing his boiler room show to a bigger audience for a Christmas special on Saturday 17th December.

Ticket holders can expect more people and bigger laughs with an amazing line-up including Diona Doherty, William Thompson, Aaron Mc Cann, Fintan Harvey and Eamon Mc Elwee.

The Christmas Special will see side-splitting work from some of the country's best comedians. Hosted by Strabane's very own stand-up comedian, Ro Boyle, whose work includes Big Massive Podcast, Boiler Room Comedy Club, Orange is the new Green and Strabanter, you'll enjoy a night of hysterical laughs and festive cheer with this incredible line-up.

Aaron McCann, headliner of the event, burst onto the Irish comedy scene in 2012 gigging extensively across Northern Ireland's top venues including Laverys Comedy Club & The Empire. Since then, McCann has found himself playing support to some of his comedic idols including Daniel Sloss, Tom Stade & Patrick Kielty.

Aaron has just returned from a year in Los Angeles where he gigged regularly on the Kill Tony Podcast in front of the likes of Tom Segura, Tony Hinchcliffe and Whitney Cummings. Currently McCann is wrapping up his second trip to America, this time New York.

Guests will be treated to hilarious laughs from Belfast-based comedian, William Thompson. With over 8 years' experience performing stand-up comedy, despite only being 25, he has performed at some of the largest venues in Northern Ireland including the Waterfront Hall and the SSE Arena. He has supported some of the biggest names in Northern Irish comedy including Paddy McDonnell and Shane Todd. William is the co-host of The Mudblood Podcast with Paddy McDonnell which has amassed over half a million downloads in under a year, and subsequently embarked on a sell-out live tour of the podcast in 2021.

Continuing the line-up is Fintan Harvey, a stand-up comedian and author from Claudy, Co Derry. He has performed in front of audiences across the country and is a favourite of the local circuit. Fintan's clever storytelling and unique way of looking at the world has made him a crowd favourite and a hilarious act who is not to be missed.

Next up will be Eamon McElwee. While much too old to be considered a new face of comedy, Eamon is nonetheless one of the rising stars of the local circuit having played with luminaries such as Micky Bartlett, Colin Geddis and Shane Todd

We are delighted to be welcoming Diona Doherty to The Alley. The Irish actress, writer and comedian from Derry starred in BBCs Soft Border Patrol, has played a Ukrainian student in Channel 4's Derry Girls and penned and starred in her own sold-out original show 'Bridesmaids of NI'. You'll also recognise her from The Blame Game where she has been a panellist since 2021.

Don't miss this amazing line up of incredible stand-up comedians all in one night. Tickets are £15 available from the Alley Theatre Box Office on 028 71 384444 or online www.alley-theatre.com.
