Give the gift of theatre as The Alley launches Spring programme

Mayor of Derry City and Strabane District Council, Councillor Sandra Duffy, is urging people to give the gift of a night of entertainment this Christmas as tickets and vouchers for The Alley Theatre's 2023 Spring programme are released this week.
Highlights include stand up comedy from Emer Maguire, Colin Murphy, Conal Gallen, David O'Doherty and the Give My Head Peace gang as well as Musical Theatre productions of Calamity Jane and High School Musical.
Live music acts in the programme include The Kilkennys, Jamesy O'Kane, Brian Houston and an eclectic evening of classical music from the Ulster Orchestra.
"The Alley Theatre is one of the premier events venues in the North West and I am delighted the team have secured a varied and high level programme for Spring 2023," she said.
"The schedule includes a wide range of music, comedy and drama as well as arts development courses for adults and children.
"Tickets and vouchers for the Theatre are an ideal Christmas gift so why not give the gift of a night out by snapping up yours today?"
The Strabane Drama Festival will feature a week long programme of plays while the award winning drama group Dyah Productions will also return with A Room of One's Own.
Eurovision Song Contest winner Niamh Kavanagh and her band The Illegals will be in town on Saturday January 21st to perform the hits from two the greatest rock bands of all time- The Eagles and Fleetwood Mac.
Also in January, comedy drama Sorry for Your Loss will feature an unmissable night of fun, craic and adult humour set in the isolated town land of Bannion in Donegal.
The drama continues in February when Roll Over Play Dead by the Movers and Shakers Theatre Group tells the story of a group of woman fed up with being treated like doormats who embark on a journey to find themselves.
Jurassic Roar on Sunday February 19th feature state of the art animatronic life like dinosaurs in a thrilling interactive show perfect for the whole family.
A Wake in the West on April 5th by the Clanabogan Drama Circle is a fast paced comedy based in the North West of Ireland ariybd the death and wake of local man Tom Healy.
In March Children's Easter Arts and Crafts Workshops will feature egg decorating, wreath making, clay modelling and story telling.
Other Easter Entertainment includes screenings of Peter Rabbit 2, Teddy's Birthday and Dr Dolittle.
