Haunting Happenings at the Alley Theatre this Halloween

17 October 2022
Join the Ghostly Gathering at the Alley Theatre this Halloween with a range of spooky shows, cinema days and weirdly wonderful workshops,
Barking Dog Theatre Company presents two shows on Saturday 29th October – The Teddy, The Witch and The Pumpkin, perfect for little witches and wizards under 6 is showing at 1pm, Sammy Ragdoll manages to persuade her best friend Eddy The Teddy to go out "trick or treating" for Halloween. Sammy doesn't always have good ideas though. With a timid Eddy, who has a tendency to wander off, and a mischievous Monkey as a friend there's always a chance an unintended adventure may occur.... The show uses many elements of theatre, mime, puppetry and songs to join in with.  It's a perfect introduction to live entertainment for children who've never been to a show before and a welcome return for Eddy the Teddy's young fans.
For those slightly older The Legend of Sleepy Hollow is on at 3.30pm, perfect for those 5 – 10 year olds.  The story is set in 1790, in Sleepy Hollow, a small town near New York. The place is home to many tales of the supernatural especially that of the Headless Horseman. Ichabod Crane, a school teacher from Connecticut moves into town. He is superstitious and believes all the local legends. He soon becomes a rival to Brom Bones for the affections of Katrina. She rejects Ichabod. Perhaps the Healess Horseman wants Ichabod to leave town too, or is it Brom in disguise? Barking Dog's two talented actors (with the help of a some puppets and children from the audience) present this exciting tale, specially adapted for children.
