Haunting Happenings at the Alley Theatre this Halloween

Join the Ghostly Gathering at the Alley Theatre this Halloween with a range of spooky shows, cinema days and weirdly wonderful workshops,
Barking Dog Theatre Company presents two shows on Saturday 29th October – The Teddy, The Witch and The Pumpkin, perfect for little witches and wizards under 6 is showing at 1pm, Sammy Ragdoll manages to persuade her best friend Eddy The Teddy to go out "trick or treating" for Halloween. Sammy doesn't always have good ideas though. With a timid Eddy, who has a tendency to wander off, and a mischievous Monkey as a friend there's always a chance an unintended adventure may occur.... The show uses many elements of theatre, mime, puppetry and songs to join in with. It's a perfect introduction to live entertainment for children who've never been to a show before and a welcome return for Eddy the Teddy's young fans.
For those slightly older The Legend of Sleepy Hollow is on at 3.30pm, perfect for those 5 – 10 year olds. The story is set in 1790, in Sleepy Hollow, a small town near New York. The place is home to many tales of the supernatural especially that of the Headless Horseman. Ichabod Crane, a school teacher from Connecticut moves into town. He is superstitious and believes all the local legends. He soon becomes a rival to Brom Bones for the affections of Katrina. She rejects Ichabod. Perhaps the Healess Horseman wants Ichabod to leave town too, or is it Brom in disguise? Barking Dog's two talented actors (with the help of a some puppets and children from the audience) present this exciting tale, specially adapted for children.
In between these two shows there will be some Roarsome visitors lurking in the Alley Courtyard as SAURUS the dinosaurs will be stomping around for prey at 2pm as they embark through the streets of Strabane. Follow them if you DARE!
Enjoy our Halloween Cinema Day On Sunday 30th October with The Addams Family 2 at 3pm Dress up in your scariest Halloween costume and join our favourite monster family in this all new movie we find Morticia and Gomez distraught that their children are growing up, skipping family dinners, and totally consumed with "scream time."Tickets £4, Family of Four £12 PG certification.

Everyone’s favourite drummers SPARK are kicking off the day as they will be in the Alley Courtyard at 1pm. See them as they perform in the courtyard before they travel through the town with their energy, music and light! Then at 2pm come back to the Alley for Bard’s Theatre Frankenstein "It is true, we shall be monsters..."
Come see the creation of the infamous Frankenstein's monster in Bard Theatre's modern adaptation of Mary Shelley's classic horror tale. Featuring deadly drama, dastardly dance, and sinister songs this show is perfect for all theatre and Hallowe'en enthusiasts. Don’t miss it at 2pm & 4pm Horror theme, suitable for ages 7+. Tickets £5
Join the witches and goblins and come dress to scare to listen to some spooky Halloween stories in Strabane Library at 3pm on Saturday 29th and Monday 31st October
The Halloween fun continues through the week with two creative workshops. Enter the Upside Down with Michelle Young from Ink Wing Academy. Have you ever wondered what beasts or villains lurk in the grey and twisted world of The Upside Down? Take part in an imaginative emporium of creativity and words, delving into beastly characters and settings that make your skin crawl and spine tingle. Children will draw, make models and write about creatures and settings that only their imaginations can take them. Aged 8-14yearsyrs. Cost £10
The following day on Friday 4th November Leona Devine will be teaching a Ceramic Tile Workshop. Young people will learn to make a series of decorative tiles using two styles of ceramic decorative finishes both sgraffito and mono printing to personalise their pieces during construction. The piece will be fired and can be collected a week later. Cost £10 All materials and firing cost included.
