Legendary ‘Lost & Found’ female singers celebrated by ‘Chicago Queen of Soul’ at the Alley

04 June 2018

Chicago Queen of Soul and all round force of nature Karen Underwood is celebrating legendary female singers who have now since passed such as Billie Holiday, Nina Simone, Whitney Houston and Amy Winehouse at the Alley Theatre in Strabane on Friday 15th June.

Karen has trawled jazz, blues and soul to find artists whose rise to fame was followed by a fall from grace. ‘Legends Lost and Found’ is a celebration of love and loss. It offers a concert that celebrates the lives of divas who left the world too soon but whose music lives on in popular culture – Billie Holiday, Janis Joplin, Dinah Washington, Edith Piaf and Amy Winehouse – all women who were ‘lost and found’ – enjoying excesses and excellence and whose songs sing a story of love and pain.

‘Legends Lost and Found’ was directed and arranged by John O’Brien who was also the inspiration behind Pagliacci (Irish Times Theatre Award for Best Opera 2012), Orpheus, and Der Vampyr.

Karen has performed all over Ireland – including the National Concert Hall, the Olympia and the Gaiety – and has appeared on numerous TV and radio programmes.

This is a great opportunity to see her live at the Alley Theatre in Strabane.  Prepare for an extravaganza of talent and emotion!

Tickets for the ‘Legends Lost and Found’ concert are £15 available from the Alley Theatre Box Office on 028 71 384444, online www.alley-theatre.com. For all the latest news, events and competitions sign up to The Alley Theatre E Newsletter online.
