Lisnagelvin Playing Fields not being considered as potential Waterside Recycling Centre site
12 December 2022
Derry City and Strabane District Council confirmed that the Lisnagelvin Playing Pitches are not being considered as a potential site for the development of the Waterside Recycling Facility.
Committee members discussed the ongoing provision of recycling facilities in the Waterside area at the most recent Environment and Regeneration Committee meeting on Wednesday 7th December 2022.
Chair of the committee Alderman Keith Kerrigan confirmed that the waterside playing fields are not being considered a potential development site.
“Lisnagelvin Playing Pitches are not being considered as a potential site for the development of the Waterside Recycling Facility. Members heard from Council Officers that given the constraints with the current recycling facilities that it would be appropriate to look for other appropriate potential sites in the Waterside area and that they will bring an update report to members in due course. The potential sites to be scoped will not include Lisnagelvin Playing Pitches”
