Music and nutrition the focus of Age Friendly workshops
02 March 2022
Workshops focusing on creating a music playlist for your life and exploring how to save money on a food shop will take place on Tuesday 8th March.
The workshops are part of a series taking place during March for people aged 50 or over as part of Derry City and Strabane District Council's Age Friendly programme, supported by the Public Health Agency.
On Tuesday at 11am, the charity Playlist for Life will facilitate a free online workshop delving into the benefits of personal music and how to build the soundtrack of your life.
Participants will learn more about how a personal collection of songs can bring you back to a special memory or time in your life and about how music is known to have many psychological benefits, including reducing anxiety, improving mood, making difficult tasks more manageable, evoking memories to help people connect, and improving the wellbeing of those living with dementia.
Also taking place on Tuesday at 11am will be the 'How to Save Money on Your Food Shop' free online webinar.
The one-hour session will have expert advice from registered dieticians who will demonstrate how to save money on your food shop, sharing ideas and practical tips, with participants also having the opportunity to ask their own questions.
