Play Provision Engagement in Coshquin
06 March 2019
Derry City and Strabane District Council is hosting a community engagement event to encourage the community in Coshquin to have their say on the future of play park provision in the area.
The event, scheduled to take place on Tuesday next, 12 March at the Cosh Bar from 6-8pm, provides an opportunity for local residents to see the designs for play facilities in the area before the submission of the planning application and the securing of funding.
The community engagement event is an important way of gauging public opinion and get feedback from the local community on how they want to see the new play park developed.
Council’s Play Development Officer Helen Turton, encouraging the public to take part in the engagement event said: “We are really keen to hear the views of local people, as future users of a new play park, it is important to take on board the views of the community before progressing this project further.
“As a Council, we understand the importance of outdoor play for children and we have invested a lot in play parks and facilities throughout our District over the last few years. We hope that this initiative in Coshquin will enhance our play offering further and we urge anyone with young children or an interest in this issue to drop into the Cosh Bar next Tuesday evening or submit their feedback directly via our website at www.derrystrabane.com/[parks.
The community engagement event will take place from 6-8pm on Tuesday 12 March at the Cosh Bar. The project is subject to funding and planning approval.
