Seminar to offer advice on cutting business energy bills

31 May 2018

If you have concerns about your business energy bills, then a special event taking place next week in Derry’s Guildhall could offer some valuable information on how to cut costs.

Derry City and Strabane District Council is hosting a special Sustainability Seminar on Wednesday June 6th, from 9.30am – 12.30pm as part of the SECURE, Smarter Energy Community Project. The project is supported by the Northern Periphery and Arctic Programme through the European Regional Development Fund.

There will be information available at the event on a number of ways that businesses can become more sustainable and cut back on their energy expenses.

Mayor of Derry City and Strabane District, Councillor Maolíosa McHugh, urged local business owners to come along and find out how they can benefit.

“Business owners are facing so many challenges in the current economic climate, so any opportunity to reduce overheads is extremely welcome. There will be experts on hand at the seminar to provide guidance on the most sustainable energy options to suit your company’s business needs.

“I want to encourage anyone who has concerns, or anyone who is interested in the issue of sustainability and the environmental impact, to come along and find out how you can save.”

The event is being held as part of EU Sustainability Week which takes place from 4th – 8th of June.

The seminar is free for all to attend and lunch will be available after the session. You can register your interest by contacting [email protected]
