Strabane Businesses Invited to Have Their Say

01 February 2016

Businesses within the centre of Strabane have a final opportunity to share their aspirations for the local trading environment following the final consultation phase of a new Business Improvement District (BID) project launched last week.

The summary plan outlines what the businesses have prioritised to date in terms of the projects and initiatives they would like to see should the town proceed with a Business Improvement District.

Priorities drawn from the consultation phase will then be used to assist in the development of a final business plan for the BID. Businesses within the proposed BID area will be balloted next month over the proposal to establish a BID later this year.

Liam Stewart, Chair of the Strabane BID Task Group said: “This consultation phase is the final opportunity for businesses to share their aims and priorities on how Strabane might be improved. By completing the consultation questionnaire businesses will be able to shape the priorities of a possible Business Improvement District.

“This is an excellent chance for businesses to come together and through the BID, invest in improvements to the benefit of Strabane town centre.”

If established, a BID for Strabane will be financed and led by the business community. In the coming weeks, the BID project will be getting in touch to let businesses know more about the ballot and BID Champions will also be raising awareness of the BID offer. Ballot papers will be distributed in mid-March with the postal ballot scheduled to close on Thursday, 21st April 2016.

To have your say, please fill in the consultation questionnaire included with the summary plan or online at www.bidinstrabane.com. Or Contact the BID Office on 02871 253 253 or via email [email protected]  to organise one-to-one consultation.
