Strabane businesses invited to 'Reboot' after Covid-19

10 July 2020

Businesses in the Strabane area are invited to join an innovative new programme geared towards helping local companies combat the negative impacts of Covid-19.

The Business Reboot Programme is led by Derry City and Strabane District Council in conjunction with the Strabane BID. It will comprise of five workshopstaking place during August and access to mentoring sessions during the final quarter of 2020 aimed at assisting companies planning for post-pandemic growth and sustainability.
The programme is free and is open to companies with less than 50 employees and based in the Strabane area. Priority will be given to businesses who have not accessed support before from Council's Business Boost Programme.

Mayor of Derry City and Strabane District, Councillor Brian Tierney, encouraged local businesses to sign up. "I've had the opportunity in recent days to visit a number of businesses across Derry and Strabane who are now just starting to get back on their feet," he explained. "There will undoubtedly be many new and unique challenges for our businesses to overcome as we try to return to some version of normality, so it's vitally important that support is made available to help our business community overcome the challenges.

"I would encourage owners and managers in Strabane to sign up for the Reboot Programme to find out how they can rebuild the foundations of a successful business with enhanced resilience and sustainability going forwards."

Participants will have access to one-to-one mentoring from an experienced consultant whose role will be to challenge and present new ideas to help inform decisions for local businesses. Due to ongoing restrictions relating to travel and social interaction, all mentoring will be delivered virtually using Zoom software. Anyone who is unfamiliar with the software will receive assistance from the delivery team.

Chair of Strabane BID, Kieran Kennedy said: "Local companies now have to consider how they get back to business following a period of major disruption and instability. The Business Reboot Programme will support owner-managers as they consider how to adapt their business model to reflect the new realities of life.

"The programme will address a number of key areas aimed at protecting staff and customers, helping managers alleviate the concerns of staff and build customer confidence. It will also offer guidance on developing a bespoke Marketing Recovery Plan for your business.”

The Programme forms part of the wider DCSDC Business Boost Programme which is part-funded by Invest NI and the European Regional Development Fund under the Investment for Growth and Jobs Northern Ireland [2014 – 2020] Programme.
Please note that anyone who has previously participated in the DCSDC Business Boost Programme can apply - however the amount of mentoring support available will be restricted to one day.
