PEACE IV – November 2020 Newsletter

6,396. There’s a number for you. These days with Covid the news all seems to be about numbers but it’s also about the human stories behind the numbers. 6,396 happens to be the official number of local people, so far, who have been sustained beneficiaries of the Derry City and Strabane District Council PEACE IV Programme. That’s people who have regularly rolled the shirts sleeves up, or donned welly boots, or crossed the threshold of places they’d never previously been and made friends with people they’d never previously met. They’re people of all ages, identities and geographical parts of our council area. Thousands more have also benefitted by turning up to an occasional event or opportunity.
Statistics don’t tell the stories. In this newsletter, we’re giving you a glimpse into some of the human stories behind that number. Every six months, we publish our PEACE IV magazine. To read our latest edition, click the link. The publication features stories from seven of our sixty-five projects. It explores how our projects have overcome not only the hurdles of Covid, but also moving forward on reconciliation. Give it a read – guaranteed, afterwards, you’ll feel encouraged.
Celebrate our achievements with us.
