St Patrick's Day Parade
The Parade Returns for 2022
North West Carnival Initiative presents St Patrick’s Day Spring Carnival Parade ‘Rebirth & Renewal.
Famed for their fantastical and flamboyant carnival parades, the NWCI has stepped into Spring for this year’s Carnival parade in celebration of ‘Rebirth & Renewal’.
Mystical creatures will snake their way through the city’s streets along with a host of characters representing young people from fables and fairy tales from faraway lands. Today’s youth and culture will have pride of place, so expect to be delighted by dance moves from everything from ballet to hip hop.
The NWCI works alongside Greater Shantallow Community Arts and In Your Space engaging with over 600 participants from local schools, youth clubs, arts and cultural organisations to create this highlight event
The St Patrick's Day Spring Carnival Parade commences at 3.00pm and will exit from Bishop Street Car Park onto Bishop Street. From there it will proceed to the Diamond, travel down Shipquay Street to Whitaker Street, turn left onto Foyle Embankment and at Harbour Square Roundabout head left towards Strand Road passing the City Hotel, turn right onto Strand Road passing the Holiday Inn and The Strand Omniplex proceeding to Strand Road Car Park where it will end at approximately 4:00pm.
