A fruitful event with an interesting site visit, hosted by partner Association of Local Authorities in Västernorrland.

On 2 April 2019, EMERGREEN project partner and core ERNACT region Association of Local Authorities in Västernorrland welcomed partners from Ireland, Finland, Northern Ireland and Faroe Islands to Sundsvall (Sweden) for the official launch of the project.

On the first morning, project partners met at the Quality Hotel Sundsvall for an event which served to raise awareness about the EMERGREEN project, showcasing the different technologies/experiences applicable for green growth public services. To begin, Jose Manuel San Emeterio (Project Leader, ERNACT) presented an overview of the project. Attendees then heard from speakers:

  • Viveca Norberg (Sweco) - Sustainable construction project
  • Mattias Onils (Mid Sweden University) - The Smart project, Research about sensors for better environment
  • Fredrika Ek (Entrepreneur, world traveller) - Around the World in 1000 days with new technology and a bicycle
  • Aurora Lindberg (Association of Local Authorities in Västernorrland) - eSamverkan/eCollaboration, a platform sharing 480 e-services in 100 municipalities.

In the afternoon, partners had the opportunity to visit the Digital Centre at Kulturmagasinet (a centre for creative technology, usage of virtual reality, co-production, 3D-printing, workshops and more).

On day two, partners met again for their first steering committee meeting to review progress on project activities and agree on future steps.
