Game On

Working with partners and young people, Game On is a Mayor’s Initiative which piloted a fun and creative engagement approach to identify the needs and interests of young people in six areas across the district from March – June 2018 .

To date, ten events took place across Castlederg, Sion Mills, Strabane, Ballyarnett, Rosemount/Glen and St Columb’s Park, to engage with young people and help identify their needs and interests that will assist Council in putting together a bespoke programme of activities.

Young people had access to an informal space to hang out; hot drinks; group work and games; computers and gaming through the Off the Streets bus funded through the Big Lottery.

With the strong focus on sports and arts; activities known to support the wellbeing of young people; youth workers had the opportunity to talk to the young people about the potential support which could be offered through the Mayor’s Initiative,
