Statement of Community Involvement (SCI)

Statement of Community Involvement (SCI)

Derry City and Strabane District Council have formally revised the Timetable for the production of the Derry City and Strabane District Local Development Plan (LDP) 2032 which will subsequently replace both the Strabane Area Plan 2001 and the Derry Area Plan 2011. The Timetable intends to deliver a published LDP draft Plan Strategy (dPS) in Autumn 2019.

The Timetable sets out when Council expects to reach key stages of the process from the initial stages of the Preferred Options Paper through to the preparation and adoption of the Plan Strategy and the subsequent Local Policies Plan. The Council will keep under review the Timetable for the preparation and adoption of its LDP. The purpose of the LDP is to inform the general public, statutory authorities, developers and other interested parties of the policy framework and land use proposals that will guide development decisions within the District up to 2032. It will also provide certainty for those wishing to make investment decisions within the District.

Further information on the key stages of the LDP process and the opportunities for community involvement and engagement during its preparation are detailed in the Council's Statement of Community Involvement (SCI). The SCI  also sets out the policy for involving and engaging the community in the consideration of Planning Applications and in Planning Enforcement.

Copies of the revised Timetable can be inspected at the Council offices in Derry (Strand Rd) and Strabane (Derry Rd) during normal office hours. Copies can also be inspected at the Council’s Leisure Centres across the District.
