Kick Start your IT  - Software Fundamentals Programme

The Kickstart Your IT course is  aimed at people who want a career in IT or those who want to change their career direction.  This FREE course provides specialist training to upskill to the necessary level of knowledge for entry level positions within the IT Sector.

The Kickstart Your IT, Software Fundamentals Programe is fully funded and there are no associated tuition or exams costs.

The course is delivered over  16 - 17 weeks and will include:

► 29.5 hours study time, a mix of in class attendance and online lessons per week (13 weeks).

► A minimum of 4 weeks in-company work placement with participating companies.

On successful completion of the course, participants will sit exams to gain the following industry recognised qualifications: -

► OCN NI Level 4 Diploma in Software Testing

► MTA Introduction to Programming in Java

► ISTQB Foundation Certificate in Software Testing

► And a Guaranteed job interview

Course Entry Criteria:

To be eligible applicants must:-

► Possess a HNC/HND/   or a degree/equivalent level of qualification in any discipline

► A strong back ground/knowledge in IT.

► Be available to commit to the full duration of the training programme. 

Desirable

► Experience of computer programming at Level 3 or above

Kick Start Your I.T. is  funded by Department for the Economy in partnership with North West Regional College, Derry City and Strabane District Council and participating companies.
