I have 40 years fishing experience. I do trout, salmon, sea fishing, (including landing the biggest Porbeagle in 80 years at approximately 295 lbs), coarse fishing (most coarse fish into double figures). I have fished all round Ireland including all major fresh water Loughs. I have been teaching fly tying at my local community centres i.e. The Glens Community Association and Ballykelly Community & Youth Association for the past 10 years. These classes are attended by all ages and genders from 8 year old girls to 70+ year old pensioners. I ran the classes for 16 weeks in the year and over period the participants improved their fly tying from complete beginners to people with limited knowledge of fly tying.
I have demonstrated at several shows over the years for the Loughs Agency including Melmount Centre, Strabane, Newtonstewart Centre, Aghabrack Centre and Castlederg Centre. I have also taught Angling for Beginners for Healthy Ageing Network, Derry at the Oaks Fishery, Enagh. I taught a 6 week fly tying class at Dennett Anglers, Donemana
I am a fully paid up member of the Countryside Alliance, Ireland and have insurance cover for Personal Accident, Employers Liability, and Public Liability. Membership No. 012767 as well as Country Sports Ireland No 010493
I have also been ACCESS NI checked by both Ballykelly Community Association and the Glens Community Association.
I hold certificate for Level 1 Coaching Angling (Game), certificate for River Invertebrate Monitoring Workshop. I have also completed Child Protection Awareness and Keeping Safe Programme. I have completed First Aid Training and PCR and AED training.
