One World Festival

One World Multi Cultural Festival
23rd September 2023

The vision of the One World – North West Multi Cultural Festival is:

“A society connected through culture, creativity and respect”

The One World Festival will take place on Saturday 23rd September at a venue to be confirmed.  The festival is a celebration of global cultures represented in our local community.

The event will encompass a number of activities including music & performance, arts & crafts, storytelling and dance, exhibitions and conversations.  Derry City and Strabane District Council are now seeking expressions of interest for participation and delivery of these activities.

One World - North West Multi Cultural Festival invites local artists and creative practitioners from or working with ethnic minority communities to express and share contemporary and traditional cultural identities through arts and cultural practices as part of this year's festival programme.

Council also seeks to appoint a freelance artistic curator from a BAME community background, with “passion, energy and drive” to develop and champion the festival towards ensuring that BAME are at the heart of the festival. The curator would be appointed by council as a fixed contract of service.
