Culture Night Celebrated in Style

Culture Night 2026 was a resounding success, with people of all ages turning out to enjoy an evening of arts, culture, heritage and creativity.

An eclectic programme of free events attracted audiences to venues throughout the city and district, where they enjoyed everything from live music and poetry to exhibitions, guided tours, traditional culture and family-friendly activities.

The evening provided a wonderful opportunity to showcase the city's rich cultural offering and highlight the important role its arts, heritage and community venues play in bringing people together. The enthusiasm and community spirit on display helped create a memorable celebration of creativity and culture.

Mayor of Derry City and Strabane District Council, Cllr Grace Uí Niallais, said “It was wonderful to see so many people out enjoying Culture Night and celebrating the creativity, talent and culture that make our city so special. The fantastic turnout and atmosphere throughout the evening highlighted the importance of our cultural venues and the vital role they play in community life. I’d like to say a huge thank you to all the artist, performers and organisers who helped make the evening such a special occasion.”
