Foyle Arena hosts vibrant FestivALL celebration of inclusion and ability

2 April 2026

The Foyle Arena was alive with energy last week as hundreds of participants came together for the annual FestivALL programme.
Delivered by Derry City and Strabane District Council, funded by PHA the event celebrates diversity, inclusion, and ability across the community.
The programme offered a dynamic lineup of performance, art, and sport, designed to break down barriers and create opportunities for people with disabilities to participate, perform, and socialise in a fun and supportive environment.
Informational stalls were also available, providing advice and support to attendees and their families.
In the lead-up to the event, a series of capacity- and confidence-building workshops were delivered at DEEDS, Ardnashee School and Knockavoe School, ensuring that individuals with complex needs could engage with FestivALL in their own settings.
The festival showcase featured an exciting line-up of performances, including Tuned In’s Renegade Zoo, Friday JAMZ Crew and High End Dead. Pupils from St Brigid’s Primary School and The Model Primary School delivered vibrant dance routines, while ASpace2 showcased their Irish rock band.
Visual arts also played a key role with Destined exhibiting artwork and the NW Spectrum Group represented by Tori, who both displayed her work and delivered live art demonstrations.
The second day of the programme focused on sport and physical activity, with local primary schools taking part in a Boccia Blitz, while members from Destined, Tuned In, ASpace2 and New Horizons competed in “Energised and Enthralled”. Participants also enjoyed taster sessions on the climbing wall and accessible bikes.
Mayor of Derry City and Strabane District Council, Ruairí McHugh, attended the event and praised the positive impact of FestivALL.
“FestivALL was a wonderful celebration of inclusion and community spirit, providing opportunities for people of all abilities to come together and take part in a wide range of activities,” he said.
“It was genuinely inspiring to see the confidence, creativity and enthusiasm on display throughout the programme.
“Events like this play an important role in challenging perceptions and highlighting the many talents and contributions of people with disabilities across our community.
“I would like to commend everyone involved in organising and participating in FestivALL for creating such a welcoming, supportive and uplifting environment for all.”
