ICT company appointed to develop design concepts for Walled City Public Realm and Lighting Scheme

Officers from Derry City and Strabane District Council Regeneration Team met with representatives from the newly appointed urban design and lighting consultancy teams -TetraTech and Spiers Major, last week to take a site visit of the Walled City.

Officers from Derry City and Strabane District Council Regeneration Team met with representatives from the newly appointed urban design and lighting consultancy teams -TetraTech and Spiers Major, last week to take a site visit of the Walled City.

The ICT company has been appointed to develop design concepts for the Walled City Public Realm and Lighting Project that is led by Council in partnership with the Department for Communities (DfC), aimed at enhancing public spaces and lighting within and around the historic Walled City.

The project is one of several transformative regeneration initiatives being delivered through the Derry~Londonderry and Strabane City Deal and Inclusive Future Fund.

The public are advised that stakeholder engagement and public consultations are planned in the coming months to help shape the proposals and allow them to have an input on how we can enhance the Walled City’s public spaces, improve accessibility and the overall visitor experience.
