Mayor Honours Derry City FC Down Syndrome Futsal Team on National Success

The Mayor of Derry City and Strabane District Council, Cllr Grace Uí Niallais, hosted a special reception at the Guildhall this week to recognise the outstanding achievement of the Derry City FC Down Syndrome Futsal team following their victory in the recent League of Ireland Annual Cairdeas Cup in Dublin.
The team, comprising Keigan Taylor, Eoin McGarry, Zain Attia, Aodhan Collins and Danny Miller, alongside coaches Noel Crampsey and Joe Kelly, were congratulated for their dedication, teamwork and sporting excellence. Congratulating the team, the Mayor said: “It was a great honour to welcome these talented young athletes to the Guildhall and celebrate their fantastic achievement. Their success on the national stage is a testament to their hard work, commitment and team spirit, and they are wonderful ambassadors for Derry City, Strabane and the wider football community. I congratulate every player and coach on this well-deserved success and wish them continued achievements in the future.”
