Strabane Comes Alive After Dark This Halloween

22 October 2025

Strabane is set to transform into a hive of spooky fun this Halloween as the After Dark Programme takes over venues across the town from Thursday 30th October to Sunday 2nd November. With a jam-packed schedule of live entertainment, themed parties, and chillingly good craic, locals and visitors alike can look forward to four nights of unforgettable Halloween magic.

The festivities begin on Thursday 30th October with laughter and thrills in equal measure. Charlie’s Bar hosts the Boiler Room Comedy Club from 8pm, featuring a stellar line-up of Ronan Boyle, Serena Terry, Eddie Mullarkey, Adam Byrne and Bunny Martinez. Meanwhile, over at the Harp & Fiddle, film fans can enjoy a free screening of “Halloween” complete with complimentary popcorn at their Boo’s & Booze night. And for those who like a challenge, Dicey Riley’s will be testing horror knowledge with its Horror Themed Quiz from 9.30pm.

On Halloween night itself, Friday 31st October, the town comes alive with eerie energy and plenty of prizes for the best dressed. XOX hosts Nightmare on Railway Street with a £100 cash prize up for grabs, while the Harp & Fiddle’s Halloween Party offers another £100 prize and live music from The Dods and DJ Johnny G. The Farmer’s Home invites brave guests to soak up the atmosphere of its centuries-old walls, where whispers of ghost stories are never far away. No matter what street you go down, there’s music and mischief at every turn, from Paul Brennan at Christy’s Bar to Mickey Ferry’s Music and Movies at Dicey’s, and Dee Sweeney performing live at Charlie’s Bar before DJ Doherty takes over late into the night at the Railway Bar & Lounge.

Micheal Kelly, Strabane BID Vice-Chair, said they were delighted to launch this year’s After Dark programme and looked forward to another successful year.

“Halloween in Strabane is always something special, and this year’s After Dark programme is set to be our biggest yet. From comedy and live music to themed parties and spooky screenings, there’s a fantastic mix of entertainment for everyone to enjoy. We’re encouraging people to come out, dress up, explore the town, and soak up the amazing atmosphere across our local venues It also gives us an opportunity to support our local businesses, who put so much energy and effort into the entire Halloween celebrations across Strabane and the wider district.”

The celebrations continue on Saturday 1st November, with DJs and live acts filling Strabane’s pubs and clubs with energy. Highlights include DJ Johnny G and Conal Donnelly at the Harp & Fiddle, Gregg Laird spinning the decks at XOX, and Niall Gallagher taking the stage at Charlie’s Bar. Rock fans can head to Dicey’s for Monsters of Rock, counting down the greatest rock anthems ever.

The weekend rounds off on Sunday 2nd November, with a more relaxed but equally entertaining vibe. Adam Dolan and Nicky perform live at Christy’s Bar, while Roddy Lynch brings the curtain down on a spectacular weekend at the Railway Bar & Lounge.

As the sun sets and the fireworks fade, the Halloween vibes will continue well into the weekend with the Strabane Halloween After Dark programme. Local pubs will be buzzing with spooky tunes, live music, themed entertainment, and late-night revelry - perfect for those who want to celebrate into the witching hour. Don’t miss the spine-tingling atmosphere, live performances and late-night fun across the town.
