Strabane Halloween 2025: Bigger and more bewitching that ever!

29 October 2025

Preparations are well underway as Strabane Town Centre prepares for its biggest and boldest Halloween celebration yet, with a jam-packed programme of events for ghosts and ghouls of all ages. As All Hallow’s Eve descends later this week, the town will come alive with spooky spectacles, family fun and a fantastic mix of daytime and After Dark entertainment for everyone to enjoy.

Locals and visitors can look forward to live street performances, trick-or-treat tours and a spectacular fireworks finale to light up the night sky. Strabane Library will be a hub of activity throughout the celebrations with workshops, magic shows and family-friendly Halloween fun. Meanwhile, local bars and restaurants have created a packed programme of live entertainment, comedy performances and cinema screenings for adults to enjoy the festivities into the witching hour.

Encouraging everyone to come along and get involved, the Mayor of Derry City and Strabane District Council, Cllr Ruairí McHugh said, “Halloween in Strabane is always something special but this year seems more exciting than ever. The programme of events, both throughout the day and into the night, is a testament to our local performers, community groups and hospitality providers. It is a stellar line up with plenty to see and do throughout the entire Halloween period. I’d really encourage everyone to come out, dress up and support our local businesses here in Strabane and enjoy some spooktacular fun this Halloween!”

Halloween fun will be still taking place all week across the wider district with Fulton’s Pumkin Patch & Inside Spooky Trail, Maxwell’s Pumpkin Patch and the Haunted House in the Melmount Centre. Riversdale Leisure Centre will host a Family Fancy Dress Dance Fitness Class on Halloween Day and a Pool Inflatable Halloween Disco on Saturday 1st November.

On Halloween Day, Strabane Town Centre will burst into life with colourful costumes, creepy characters, and family-friendly fun for all ages. From 12 noon, visitors can enjoy an afternoon packed with live street entertainment and performances from W5: Now That’s What I Call Science and Fizz Wizz Pop, alongside appearances from the ever-entertaining Wacky Witch Winifred, Funny Bones, and the mischievous Grumpy Dracula.

Those feeling brave can take on The Wall of Terror and come face-to-face with crawling jungle creatures, while the hugely popular Trick or Treat Trails return to lead families on a sweet-filled adventure through the streets of Strabane, starting from Strabane Library and finishing with spooky storytelling in the pagoda. Trick of Treat tours are sold out already, but there is still plenty of free fun taking place throughout the town this week.

Adding to the excitement, the Trick Roar Treat dinosaurs are rumoured to return, bringing prehistoric chaos to the town once again. Over at Strabane Library, families can enjoy jaw-dropping magic from Parky the Magician, creative Halloween arts and crafts, a disco, and face painting throughout the afternoon. Other highlights include Grass Roots Scarecrow Lane and Melvin Fun Day, ensuring there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

The Fireworks Extravaganza will take to the skies at 7pm on Halloween Night from Melvin Sports Complex Running Track.
