Strabane Summer Jamm Festival returns for a full day of summer celebration

15 May 2026

Strabane Town Centre is gearing up for a spectacular day of music, entertainment and family fun as the Strabane Summer Jamm Festival returns on Saturday, June 6th from 12 noon until late.

Set to bring a lively festival atmosphere to the town, this year’s event will feature a packed and varied programme with something for everyone, promising plenty of opportunities to relax, explore and enjoy everything on offer throughout the day.

There will be lots of family fun across the town centre from 12 noon to 5pm, featuring a range of interactive activities, workshops and engaging children’s entertainment. Families can enjoy face painting, caricatures, arts and crafts, balloon modelling, fun games and activities, as well as visits to the Kidz Farm.

Visitors will also get the chance to explore the Crafty Corner at Strabane Library, where children can enjoy interactive entertainment with Jump, Giggle and Jive alongside crafts, balloon modelling and face painting.

New for this year, organisers are working alongside Studio One to introduce an Artisan Homegrown Market, celebrating local makers, producers and traditional crafts. Festivalgoers will have the opportunity to browse handmade local crafts and enjoy live demonstrations in willow weaving, bodhrán making, green wood working, pottery and traditional music.

Adding to the atmosphere, Castle Street and Castle Place will come alive with trad-pop groups performing throughout the day, creating a vibrant Fleadh-style feel in the heart of the town.

Food lovers can enjoy a dedicated Food Quarter featuring a delicious selection of BBQ, Indian, Asian cuisine, crepes and ice cream, while local restaurants and cafés across the town centre will also be serving food and refreshments throughout the festival.

Adding even more excitement to the festival, the hugely popular Bear Run 74 Car Show will make its return to the bottom of Railway Street, bringing with it an outstanding display of stunning vehicles and motoring favourites. A major attraction for car enthusiasts and families alike, the show promises plenty to admire throughout the day. If you missed it last year, this is one motoring event you won’t want to miss.

DJ Ray will return once again to bring the beats to Main Street, while local shops join in the celebrations by bringing their businesses onto the streets, creating a lively and welcoming festival atmosphere.

The festival will also showcase the incredible talent within the local community, with award-winning dance and drama groups performing throughout the town during the day. Organisations including NWRC, Craft Training and 12 Training will also be taking part in the event.

As the sun sets, the celebrations will continue with an After Dark Programme, inviting visitors to follow a musical trail through Strabane’s local bars, each hosting live entertainment from talented local musicians and bands,  the perfect way to round off a summer’s day.

Encouraging everyone to come along and enjoy the festivities, the Mayor of Derry City and Strabane District Council, Cllr Ruairí McHugh said:

“Strabane Summer Jamm is a fantastic opportunity to bring people together and celebrate everything that makes our town special. It’s a day for families, friends and visitors to enjoy great entertainment, support local businesses and soak up the atmosphere in the heart of Strabane. I am really excited for this year and would encourage everyone to come along and be part of what promises to be a memorable day for all.”
