As part of the Culture Night festivities that took place across the Derry City and Strabane District Council area on Friday night, a community engagement event aimed at getting people behind the Strabane UK Town of Culture bid was held at the Strabane Library on Friday afternoon.
As part of the Culture Night festivities that took place across the Derry City and Strabane District Council area on Friday night, a community engagement event aimed at getting people behind the Strabane UK Town of Culture bid was held at the Strabane Library on Friday afternoon.
The event was organised following Strabane’s success in being shortlisted as one of only 15 towns across the UK to compete for the Town of Culture 2028 title.
Deirdre Harte, Programme Manager with Derry City and Strabane District Council who is leading on the bid said the event was a great opportunity for people from the town to hear about the bid, sign up and be part of the process and share their creative ideas and get actively involved.
