Temporary traffic restrictions in place for roadway improvements at Pennyburn Recycling Centre

Motorists are being urged to familiarise themselves with a temporary traffic management system that will come into effect next week to access Pennyburn Recycling Centre.
Essential roadway improvement works at the facility are scheduled to begin this Monday, September 28th from midday and temporary arrangements will be in place to ensure safe access into and out of the site.
Contractors will begin setting up site operations on Monday morning when team members will remove a section of fencing near the bowling alley entrance to construct a temporary entrance and exit road.
The temporary route will be fully established and open for use by approximately midday on Monday, after which the main entrance will be closed to allow heavy construction to begin.
Directional signage will be positioned across the site to guide visitors through the temporary entry points.
The project will take place over two weeks, during the first week, work will concentrate on excavating the old road surface and adjusting manhole structures to correct levels and resurfacing contractors will arrive the following week to lay the new road surface according to specification.
Members of the public visiting the site are advised to follow all posted signage and exercise caution while the upgrades are carried out.
Customers accessing the ‘New to You’ facility can park in the main car park for the duration of the works where a dedicated access point through the safety barriers will be maintained.
The temporary entrance will remain fully locked and secured outside of operational hours.
