By taking part in this workshop, you will gain an introduction to the medium of oil paint in general, its unique traits and applications and how to use it with these things in mind.
The workshop will focus on observing a still life, first to paint a realistic representational painting and then an abstract piece. Through doing so, the workshop aims to highlight the fundamentals of making a painting regardless of the type of image the painter wishes to create.
During the workshop, you will be supplied with the basic materials and tools to make your own oil painting on the day while being encouraged to experiment with structure, space and colour, giving you an understanding of the breadth of oil paint as a medium.
