On the Foyle greenway to Brook Hall Arboretum with Far and Wild a new foodie cycle tour
This Tour is the first in a series of ‘totemic’ tours by Far and Wild, exploring the iconic historic landscapes of the North West through nature-based symbols.
It departs from St Columb’s Park House along the greenway to Brookhall and back, lasting 2 hrs of which approximately 1 hour in total is spent cycling.
Cycling along the River Foyle, you will be introduced to the food progeny of the estuarine region, a traditional atlantic salmon breeding ground.
At Brookhall you will visit the most prominent of trees that give Doire- Derry its original name, and sample finger-food from locally produced artisans and small businesses.
Returning along the greenway you will learn the foundation story of the river and the importance of the river in the settlement and growth of the city.
