Join facilitator Robert Arbuckle from The Conservation Volunteers as he teaches participants how to plant beautiful floral window boxes to add a little colour to their homes this summer. Robert will be showing people how to build their wooden window boxes as well as planting them.*

This will be the first of four workshops held throughout the year. Each workshop will focus on seasonality and participants will learn how to keep their window boxes looking their best all year round. Gardening has been proven to improve mental health and resilience. These nature-based creative workshops will foster an increased sense of pride, calm, and connection among participants, and they are a great way to meet new people.

*If you wish to simply plant your window box, Robert will also have some pre-built boxes available. Please let us know in advance.

This is a project supported by PEACEPLUS, a programme managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB), funded under the theme of Community Regeneration and Transformation, and it is funded through Derry City and Strabane District Council's PEACEPLUS Local Co-Designed Action Plan.

Waterside Together is a PEACEPLUS project that is run through the Waterside Neighbourhood Partnership.

Waterside Together is a festival and events programme aimed at bringing together members of the Protestant, Catholic, and BAME communities from across the Waterside in green spaces that are currently considered as being for the "other community".

The Conservation Volunteers bring people together to create, improve and care for green spaces. From local parks and community gardens to Local Nature Reserves and Sites of Special Scientific Interest; from school grounds and hospital grounds to waterways, wetlands and woodlands; they connect people to the green spaces that form a vital part of any healthy, happy community.
