Author Andrea Carter in conversation with Author Neil Hegarty.
Join us to celebrate the publication of Death Writes, the sixth of Andrea Carter's celebrated Inishowen Mysteries novels. In this latest in the series, we join solicitor Ben O'Keeffe as she hunts the murderer of a famous writer – and strives to solve a mystery in her own family.
Andrea discusses her deep connection with Inishowen and Derry, her writing life, her love of crime fiction – and how place forms such a powerful thread in her writing.
Andrea Carter grew up in Laois. She is the author of the Inishowen Mysteries series of novels, which begins with Death at Whitewater Church. She ran Ireland's northernmost solicitor's practice in Carndonagh for many years. Today, she lives in Dublin, and is presently working on a new stand-alone novel.
Neil Hegarty was born in Derry. His novels include Inch Levels, and The Jewel; and his non-fiction includes The Story of Ireland, which accompanies the BBC-RTE television history of Ireland. He is the co-author of Impermanence, essays exploring the past, present, and future of Northern Ireland.
Books by both authors available to purchase and have signed at the event.
