Tá muid chomh ar bís le roinnt go mbeidh Huartan, an banna dochreidte, ag seinm sa Chultúrlann ar an 1 Samhain, chomh maith le tacaíocht iontach ó Torby!
Tá Huartan, an grúpa traidisiúnta leictreonach atá lonnaithe i mBéal Feirste, buaiteoirí Dhuais Cheoil Thuaisceart Éireann 2024 do Ghrúpa Beo, ag séideadh beatha nua i bhfocail agus ceol ársa. Ó 2023 i leith, tá siad ag scuabadh leo lucht féachana lena gcumasc uathúil de cheol traidisiúnta na hÉireann agus ceol leictreonach. I gcroílár an ghrúpa dhinimiciúil seo tá triúr ceoltóirí traidisiúnta Éireannacha - Catriona Ní Ghribín, Múlú, agus Stiofán Ó Luachráin, atá ina léiritheoir don bhanna fosta.
Is é a misean lucht féachana comhaimseartha a athcheangal leis an traidisiún amhránaíochta béil agus le teanga dhúchais Uladh. Fréamhaithe in idéalacha frithchoilíneacha agus frithchaipitlíocha, cuireann Huartan samhlaíochtaí comhchoiteanna d’Éirinn réamh-Chríostaí agus miotasach in iúl go spraíúil, le seónna beo mealltacha ina bhfuil taibheoirí a léiríonn láithreacht shuaiteach na siógaí agus na n-ilchruthach

Winners of the NI Music Prize 2024 Live Act of the Year, Belfast-based tradtronica group Huartan have been breathing new life into ancient words and melodies. Since 2023, they have been sweeping audiences away with their unique fusion of Irish traditional music and electronica. At the core of this dynamic ensemble are three Irish traditional musicians - Catriona Ní Ghribín, Múlú, and Stiofán Ó Luachráin, who also serves as the band’s producer.
Their mission is to reconnect contemporary audiences with the oral singing tradition and native language of Ulster. Rooted in anti-colonial and anti-capitalist ideals, Huartan playfully channel collective imaginaries of a pre-Christian and mythic Ireland, with enrapturing live shows featuring performers who embody the unsettling presence of the fairies and shapeshifters.
