Lumiere brought together two distinct voices cut from the same geographic cloth. One is Éilís Kennedy, whose sound has ready access to the soul without need for scaffolding or spotlights. The other half of the musical whole is Pauline Scanlon, an award- winning singer from the same Kerry town of Dingle. With Lumiere, the song and its delivery are the primary focus, technical concerns give way to feeling as song and singer effortlessly merge.

Since their debut launch, the duo have toured their distinctive sound from the cosy snugs of their native Dingle to international concert halls, and a worldwide audience has connected with their offering of real music, by real singers, communicating real emotions.

As a duo, Lumiere takes something that is sacred and age old and re-imagines it simply and beautifully, reclaiming beauty, truth and trust, for the modern age.

The big themes of love and loss, of place and people, of longing and lament, are present in both records 'Lumiere' and 'My Dearest Dear'. The Duo's immersion in the west Kerry singing tradition, and their ability to communicate it's beauty remains a steadfast trait of their live performances.

In the past decade both singers have revisited their store of individual songs and added immeasurably to them in personal projects that reflected where they were in their lives.

Each has produced a huge body of work in solo albums, but like the moon and the tide, the draw to sing together has always been there. Lumiere are re-emerging in new light, with fresh stories to tell and old songs to reveal and awaken.

Eilidh (pronounced EYElee) is a warm, engaging singer songwriter of startling clarity. With songs that cut straight to the heart, delightfully accurate guitar playing, and crystal clear vocals, Eilidh immediately connects with audiences everywhere.

Having released 5 studio albums and an EP to date, Eilidh (from Derry, N. Ireland) is a hard-working independent artist who is driven by her desire to connect with people. This desire has seen her perform regularly across Northern Ireland and at festivals such as SxSW in Austin TX (3 times), Folk Alliance in Memphis TN, and Celtic Connections in Glasgow, Scotland.

Over the years she has worked with established artists in the folk scene both in the studio and on stage, most notably with Beth Nielsen Chapman. Regularly appearing on TV and radio, Eilidh has taken part in many live broadcasts and programmes for BBC NI and her music is played on radio stations across the UK and Ireland.

Curated and produced by Music Capital, Lúmináre showcases the beauty of the maiden city by hosting events in some of its most iconic buildings and unique locations.
