A free public talk by internationally produced playwright, Ed Waugh, about his latest play, The Cramlington Train Wreckers, which will run at The Playhouse in July.
The Cramlington Train Wreckers is a true story set during the 1926 General Strike, when striking miners inadvertently derailed the Flying Scotsman. The train was carrying 281 passengers, but no one was killed and only one person was slightly injured.
Eight striking miners from Cramlington in Northumberland were sentenced to 48 years' imprisonment for the derailment. This is their extraordinary story.
