Joe Stitt

Fishing since early 1950’s. mainly for trout. I was lucky to meet several good people who influenced me to try to become better and more knowledgeable about entomology, fly dressing and fly casting. I tried and passed STANIC fly dressing and game angling instruction. Next step was APGAI advanced trout discipline.

In 2002 APGAI Ireland was formed and I was privileged to be among the founding group I tried the AAPGAI Master qualification in trout sea trout and salt water. I then got to try FFF Master casting instructor qualification which I had to try a second time because I made a few errors in the first attempt.

My angling career took me on ten trips to New Zealand’s South Island to fish for trout, twice to Australia’s Snowy Mountains _again to fish for trout, two visits to Slovenia one to Bosnia and one to Austria. I had two visits to Baja to fish for big game saltwater fish. Dorado, Sail Fish, Marlin, rooster fish. Yellowfin tuna and wahoo.
