Cemetery Guidance & Regulations
Council is committed to ensuring that all who visit or use cemetery facilities are treated with dignity and respect and in an environment maintained to a standard appropriate for the purpose of burial. Opening times
Summer Opening Times 8:00am-8:00pm (1st April until 31st October)
Winter Opening Times 8:00am-4:30pm (1st November until 31st March)
.The public are reminded that while the cemeteries are open, the public must continue to adhere to the guidelines regarding social distancing and co-operate fully with Council staff at all times.
The cemetery offices will remain closed with no public access however all enquiries or queries regarding genealogy or headstone permits can be made by telephone at 028 71 362615 or email.
CLOSURE OF SOME OLD CEMETERIES
Areas of some old cemeteries in the District have been cordoned off by Council for health and safety reasons. Donaghedy Cemetery is completely closed with signage being erected and areas closed off around unstable structures at other ancient cemetery sites.
Council will be undertaking work to make these structures safe and will reopen as soon as this is complete.
All active cemeteries used for burials remain open.
