Quality Submissions Guide Consultation

We’re launching a public consultation on our new Quality Submissions Guide, designed to help applicants and agents provide the right information from the start of the planning process.

The Guide includes a Planning Application Validation Checklist. The legislative background and guidance on Planning Application Validation Checklists is provided by the Department of Infrastructure, through Development Management Practice Note  8 – Planning Application Validation Checklists, and can be viewed here

By improving the quality of applications at the outset, we can:
✅ Process applications more efficiently
✅ Engage meaningfully with consultees earlier
✅ Reduce unnecessary delays

The guide sets out:
📋 The basic information required for all applications
📑 Additional supporting information linked to our Local Development Plan Strategy 2032
💡 Helpful examples for different types of applications

We want to hear your views before the new guide is implemented.

📢 Have your say and help shape a more effective, transparent planning process for our district.

👉 Download to read the draft guide and share your feedback through [email protected]
