George Burdess
Hi I'm George Burdess orginally from County Galway but now living in the South Tipperary. I’ve been fly tying and fishing for over 20 years when my uncle introduced me to it. Since then, I have learned a lot and have even attended many shows around Ireland as well as the BFFI and the Pescare Show in Rimini, Italy.I fish many styles and for various species, from wild loughs in the West for brownies, to the tricky trout on the river Nore & Suir, to Pike in the midlands, largemouth bass in Massachusetts, if it’s got a fin I’ll catch it on a fly rod.
I specialise in river patterns & deer hair lough style patterns as I love blending and experimenting with shades, shapes and colours but can tye river patterns from size
10 up to 24. I’ve been lucky to fish all over Ireland as well as a trip to Scotland, lough hopping on float tubes.
I am Pro-Staff with Deer Creek resins and endorsed Guide with Fulling Mill. I ghillie on the River Nore for Mount Juliet Estate as well as for Trout Fishing Ireland.ie. I'm also studying my casting exam for APGAI Ireland, I look forward to speaking with you all at the show!
